GWI designs and delivers accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) trainings for mental-health professionals — helping guidance counselors, psychometricians, and psychologists keep their practice current, competent, and compliant.
01
What is CPD?
Continuing Professional Development is the ongoing learning that keeps licensed professionals competent and up to date after they qualify. For mental-health practitioners it means staying current with ethics, methods, and evidence — so every client receives safe, effective, and principled care.
02
The law that governs it
In the Philippines, CPD is mandated by Republic Act No. 10912, the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016. It makes CPD a requirement for the practice of all regulated professions under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
03
The implementing guidelines
The PRC administers RA 10912 through its Implementing Rules and Regulations and each profession’s CPD Council. GWI’s programs serve professionals under two PRC boards — the Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology and the Professional Regulatory Board of Guidance and Counseling — whose CPD Councils accredit providers and programs and set the credit units each activity carries, including the ethics units required in every compliance period.
04
What it means for your practice
Registered psychologists, psychometricians, and guidance counselors must earn CPD credit units within each three-year compliance period to renew their Professional Identification Card (PIC). GWI’s CPD trainings are accredited activities that award CPD credit — so the time you invest counts directly toward keeping your licence active.
